I've never actually read Sherlock Holmes but I have definitely enjoyed all the cool movie/series adaptations that came out in the past few years :D
Wasn't sure about the American modern version at first (they just made a modern version - why another one? which is not something that I've ever said about Woke Up Married fic so I don't know what my deal was) but then they turned Watson into a woman played by Lucy Liu *__________*

Rec: An Avalanche Of Detour Signs (56053 words) by favicongyzym
Fandom: Sherlock (TV)
Rating: Mature // Warning: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Molly Hooper/Lestrade (Inspector), [Molly Hooper/Jim Moriarty], [Molly Hooper/Sherlock Holmes (unrequited)] // Characters: Molly Hooper, Lestrade (Inspector), John Watson, Sherlock Holmes, Mycroft Holmes, Anthea (Sherlock), Sally Donovan, Anderson (Sherlock)
Summary: In which Molly Hooper gets a job, gets a degree, breaks a heart, has her heart broken, falls in love, keeps a secret, saves a life, runs a morgue, falls apart, pulls it together, and finds exactly what she didn't know she was looking for--not necessarily in that order.

I haven't really read a lot of fic for any of the new Sherlocks but I really really loved this Sherlock BBC story and it's focus on Molly Hooper. She's just absolutely fantastic here! Also, Lestrade is aaawesome! <3

Media: And speaking of modern adaptations:

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries - a video blog series inspired by Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice.
This is so cool! It took me a while to get around to watching it but once I started I could. Not. Stop. It's still a WiP, which is kinda killing me because IMPATIENT. But there are new videos twice a week and I just really enjoy watching every new video and seeing how they reinvent this nearly 200 year old story :D .

Enjoy! :-)
