Today we have an awesome guest entry by [livejournal.com profile] stellamira!

December 21st:

Picture:

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. (According to my filename, credit to the bottom picture goes to [livejournal.com profile] xxsh0tgun.)
Supernatural and the accompanying RPS have eaten my brain since 2005. But how can you blame me, if the two main actors keep looking at each other like that. The top picture is from the very first year of filming, almost six years ago, and the bottom one is from a more recent convention in 2011.

Rec: Some stories from the Supernatural RPS fandom that I really enjoyed this past year.

Passing on the Left-hand Side by [livejournal.com profile] withdiamonds (Jensen/Jared)
Once a year, Jensen and Jared meet at the same time, in the same hotel.
So much emotion and love packed into it. You only get to see the characters for a weekend every five years but it feels like you know so much more about them.

To Better Suit Your Moves by [livejournal.com profile] insomnia_geek
After Jared's dance partner leaves him because Jared dared to dance non-approved steps at a competition, Jensen and him form an unlikely couple.
I'm kinda into dancing right now (see music below), so I enjoyed this a lot. Their dancing feels very intimate and trusting. And I love Strictly Ballroom, the movie this story is based on.

Aiming to Shoot You Down by [livejournal.com profile] mistyzeo
When Jared is shot on the job and taken to the hospital, he meets nurse Jensen of the night shift.
I love how real this feels. There's no dark secrets of the past, no big angsting or freak-outs, just two people trying to navigate around circumstances and everyday obstacles. Perfect read.

Songs: I think I share these songs on a regular basis, but whatever. Maybe someone doesn't have them yet:

Crowded House - Don't Dream; my Sam and Dean song. Hasn't turned up in the show yet, but I'm keeping up my hopes for the very last episode.
Rosemary Clooney - Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas; which was in the Christmas episode.

A random collection of songs for lazy evenings on the couch:
America - Sister golden hair
Gypsy Kings - Tu quieres volver
Imogen Heap - Let Go
Micheal Bublé - Home
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah (my mom's favorite version of the song)

And in case you get bored by lazy evenings and want to move your hips to a little salsa:
Luis Enrique - Yo no sé mañana
Grupo Gale - El amor de mi vida
Maleo Ruiz - Te va a doler

Enjoy! :-)
