Today we have an awesome guest entry by [livejournal.com profile] fleurrochard!

What shall I say - I just like this picture! Nothing deep about it. *g*

Rec: I've Got Nothing To Do Today But Smile (The Only Living Boy in New York) by [livejournal.com profile] gyzym (Inception; Arthur/Eames, side Ariadne/Yusuf) - This story is an absolute comfort story of mine, it's just a delight. I love Arthur/Eames anyway, but in this story there is also lots of wonderful food. And stress baking. And it's funny and sweet and I love it. (I might overidentify with the Arthur in it a tiiiiiiiny bit. *coughs*)
And I especially love it in the podfic version by [livejournal.com profile] pennyplainknits (Link!) - if you like podfic at all, check it out!

Recipe: So this story is (in parts) about baking. So, I thought I'll give you one of my Christmas cookies recipes. (Translated from German, so if something is unclear, just ask.)

Yay! Angels (They have this name because I use a cookie cutter that looks like an angel making \o/ arms. I'm pretty sure Arthur wouldn't bake something that undignified, but Eames might love them. *g*)

Dough
250 g butter
2 tablespoons sugar
2 egg yolks
400 g flour (NOT selfraising)
some flour to roll out the dough

for coating the cookies
2 egg yolks
2 tablespoons milk
sugar

Let the butter soften outside of the fridge and then cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Stir in the eggs and then add the flour. Knead all the ingredients together into a smooth dough quickly.
Wrap the dough into cling film and let it rest in the fridge for at least an hour.
Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
Roll out the dough not too thin. Cut out little angels (or which form of cookie cutter you prefer.)
Put the cookies on a baking tray covered with baking paper.
Mix the egg yolks and the milk, coat the cookies with it and sprinkle sugar over them. Bake in the oven until golden.
Let them cool on a cooling rack.
Enjoy!

Songs: So the music here doesn't really fit the theme Inception, but it fits the theme "Things I enjoy and that destress/comfort me." :)

Camille Saint-Saens - Oratorio de Noel, No. 10 (My choir will sing it this year.)

And the next two pieces are actually recordings of my choir.

Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy - Vom Himmel hoch

Gabriel Rheinberger - Der Stern von Bethlehem - Der Stern

Enjoy! :-)
